I guess this is more of a hobby but here's my planted nano tank about a month in. I have some albino corydoras and cherry dwarf shrimp in there. I'm planning on getting a collection of moss balls in there to put in a corner but they're so damn expensive.

It does say "Hobby/collection" thread, so you're good.

Anyways; onto the pictures, how do you make a "moss ball"? Do you have a rock and plant moss on it and then let the moss flourish?

A moss ball is actually an accumulation of different types of algae. It becomes round from constantly being turned by the current. They're pretty interesting and feel pretty cool too, not what you would expect it to feel like. And they're good for aquariums because they out compete the other bad algae you wouldn't want in there. I just think they're oddly adorable.

How big is a nano tank? It's hard to tell from the pictures because there's no real frame of reference.

The one I have is a 7.9 gallon cube which is the size I see for competitions and stuff but there are some as small as 2 gallons.

I'm going to assume 7.9 gallons is pretty big. I don't really know my units of measurement, but it sounds big.

It's kind of small. I think its 11 inches wide. Some people have tanks that are 125 gallons and more which much be horrible to maintain.

Jeez, I don't think you could fit a 25 gallon tank in my dorm room, let alone 125 gallons.

Happy day. Bad picture, though.

Yea, a crappy bleached looking phone camera picture doesn't really do it justice. The detail is pretty remarkable, not just even for a video game statue either, they really went all out with the texturing and all that. Ridiculously big, too, he's something like fourteen inches tall.

The outside is bronze, just a really gold looking bronze. The inside is some kind of really heavy resin. Looks real good, though.
