Noticed we didn't have one of these so I made it, also I want to talk about a movie I just saw.

In Her Skin, it's based on the true story of a mentally unstable Australian woman that murders her teenage neighbour who appears to have a perfect life.

It's quite a good watch, you follow multiple storylines, one of the murderer and the other being the parents searching for their daughter. It's got some fairly disturbing scenes, not really any gore, which I appreciate.

All in all if you get the chance it's worth watching.

Since no one replied to this thread at all, let me do a little bit of magic:

Anywho, just saw this posted on cracked:

Not sure yet if this is going to be good at all, but Giamatti's in it, and he's usually in decent stuff. Right?

The book is fucking great, so I hope the movie will be too.

The book seems cool, but the trailer was pretty cheesy. Now, you can barely tell anything from trailers, but is it a feature length nation-wide theatrical film, or just some indie endeavor? Because it definitely seems like something that has fucking excellent ideas but gets ruined by lack of budget or bad decisions along the way or something.

I'm mostly skeptical because Comedy Horror (which the internet says this is) is probably the single trickiest genre in the universe for both books and film, and has maybe less than ten good movies under it's belt, ever. Most of which star Bruce Campbell, which this does not. It's a natural precaution, you have to understand.

Either way, I'll check the book out.

Anyway, as for movies I've been watching, I recently went on a bit of a Clint Eastwood marathon. Watched Blood Work, Absolute Power, Gran Torino, Dirty Harry, and a few others. They're excellent badass films and if you don't like them then you are obviously a dumbcunt or a commie or something.

This is being made by the same guy who directed Bubba Ho-Tep, which starred Bruce Campbell. The movie has a 78% on rotten tomatoes.

But yeah I agree. The movie does look slightly low budget, but like I said, come on. Paul Giamatti!

Definitely check out the book though Ches. Caustic didn't care for it too much, but I loved it (it's not really her favorite genre/type of horror fiction).

Also, Gran Torino was pretty good.

Eh. He said boner too many times, or something.

Doesn't mean I won't sit through the movie.

Yeah. I did. It wasn't boner that irritated me... I don't think. Might have been though. RP probably knows. Because I bitched about it plenty.

Yea, it's a pretty vulgar book. Sometimes when people cross the big three-oh, they get more sensitive to that sort of thing.

Speaking of Clint Eastwood movies (yes Gran Torino was awesome) I watched Flags of Our Fathers the other night and was thoroughly moved. It was a fantastic film. I never really knew the Iwo Jima photograph story and I liked how the photo essentially made the men more famous than they needed to be - and that the majority of them recognised this. The fact that the toil and horror of war was forgotten in the face of a few dudes putting up the American flag, welp, speaks wonders.

Although to be fair you guys totally pimped slapped Japan in the face.

But only after we threw our tea in the face of the Germans.

Bitch please, only because we got your backs with the whole Normandy thing. I mean, I think the US is full of shit with their WE NUMBAH ONE war attitude and all, but WWII is basically the singular victory that sparked a constant reputation of us performing at that level.

/uninformed bullshit

You turned up two years late! Christ, JFK's dad was hailing the Nazis as genius because the 'rich man group' didn't want their kids to go to war!

MEANWHILE IN CLYDEBANK:

(I see your uninformed opinion and raise you a poorly googled image and an unproven assumption about the wealthy elite of 1940s America)

To be fair, hitler was man of the year and for good reason before he showed his batshit insane intentions for conquest. And to be fair, we had almost no ties to the war to necessitate us throwing ourselves in front of such a large conflict.

If war broke out in 'murkka, would you insist on UK military jumping in on it?

Probably not - but only because we'd insist upon watching your own hubris consume you.

Really though, the conversation would go something like this:

America: "Oh shit! China is here! Help us, European allies!"

Us guys: "lol sorry bro massive debt lol"

America: "FUUUUUUUUUU!"
