Just read this. Amazing, had a real nice vibe to it. The ending bugs me though. What I'm thinking is that maybe
Spoiler:
the brother's image that the main character sees is a ghost of his brother. But that wouldn't explain how his brothers body turns to look at him.

Maybe I'm just being dramatic, but I always saw it like this

Spoiler:
The hole is where a demon of some kind was once sealed or imprisoned. When the body was dumped, it was not yet dead, though perhaps very close. The demon of the hole then easily possessed it in it's weakened state, and escaped it's earthy prison. Thanks to it's dark powers, the demon is able to create the illusion that there is no damage to the body. However, due to the near-death of the host, the demon must return to it's former home on occasion, so as to rest and regain it's strength. The main character descended into the hole on just such an occasion, and so saw the body move even though it was all mutilated, since the demon would not maintain it's illusion in this place.

You gotta click on the objects referred to in the poem to read the story.
