"Monsters are real.

You know because you have one. He's more fun and way tougher than all the other kids' monsters.

Try not to let him eat your friends.

Monsters and Other Childish Things is a distressingly fun and funny roleplaying game about kids and the relationship-devouring horrors from beyond time and space who love them. Players take the roles of kids and the vicious monsters who are their best friends in all the world -- and the source of all kinds of otherworldly trouble.

Monsters and Other Childish Things is perfect for new gamers young and old, and for all gamers who like a little humor with their horror and a few scares with their laughs.

Players take the roles of ordinary kids whose best friends are slavering monstrosities from beyond time and space — and that’s already enough to get them in all kinds of trouble with parents, school principals, friends, the Monster Investigation Bureau, mad science teachers, wannabe wizards, you name it. Can you make it through a school day without having to explain why your monster ate the substitute teacher? We’ll soon find out.

Monsters and Other Childish Things: The Completely Monstrous Edition is a 180-page, monstrously-complete roleplaying game."

So, I either want to run this or a space game. Thoughts?

So, it's basically Pokemon? Can my monster be Blastoise?

Actually, yeah. It's basically Pokemon meets Call of Cthulhu, in a sense.

You basically have a 'monster' AKA imaginary friend, that happens to cause a lot of damage. if it happens to be blastoise, not a problem. You're playing a kid, after all.

I like space, but that's just me.

So, we're kind of bouncing ideas around in the IRC.

Would anyone be interested in a game based off Battle Royale?

Also, someone should base a game off one of the places on these lists:
List 1
List 2

Or if nobody else wants to, I could do it after Terror Peak finishes.

Both of those ideas would be interesting.

I've been fleshing out some ideas for a space game. What I have in mind would basically be a three-in-one adventure, it'd be fairly long. People would be able to jump in between mini-adventures, I could find a way to write them in, so if you can't commit to something that long you can at least commit to one 'episode'. I don't know how well a game that long would go over, though. thoughts?

I would love to write little npc parts that die off quick... That would work well with my schedule.

I dunno about that. With NPCs they usually stick around for a while, in my games, just because I refuse to make any character without a purpose in-game.

Ok. Well I certainly like your mini-adventures idea.

I can make even mini-er adventures between the big ones probably, but that'd just be 'go on planet, collect supplies, wait for refuel, cause some havoc because this is the HMS Terror Tortellini and we always cause havoc at port'

Love Battle Royale, that would be interesting but you would definitely need a very, very robust PvP mechanic to make that game work. That would almost be more of a wargame than an RPG.

Like GO's idea of a game set in one of the "Creepiest Places" too. Gives the writers a leg up on setting.

I don't have an inherent objection to a space game, though I do find sci-fi harder to collaborate on since it's just harder to grab onto the setting when it's in the future and there's more variables, etc.

Question: We've been sort of running these games based on the idea that it's a "one game at a time" thing. So I want to know what you guys think: should we stick with the "one game at a time" or would people be willing to play more than one game at a time?

Considering the relative low number of potential players, there could be some players in multiple games. I don't want anybody to get overburdened with this stuff, but if you think you can play in more than one game, I'm not going to stop anybody.

So what do you all say?

I don't have a ton of time, so I would probably not play in multiple games at once.

I'd say for time intensive games like Terror Peak, it should be one at a time.

For more simple stuff that requires less viewer input, like the CYOA/General Adventure sort of thing I'm planning, I doubt there's much reason to limit the amount.

Yeah. The CYOA could start up alongside any other game because it's more of people voting on stuff instead of thinking up their own character's actions, so that is something to consider.
