I love it. I go through and write out all the of stuff I find, and when I lend it to friends I invite them to pick stuff out too. Although my ******* ex left it in his car forever, and accidentally ripped off the cover. So it's taped up. (It's a paperback)

I think it's a really good book that has so many different layers.

I'm tempted to go out and buy it right now.

Er, if I had a car that is. It's gotten great reviews, but a bit of the bad ones have left me edgy.

Big Y.

It's not for everyone, but it's clever, oppressive, delightful, riddled with secrets and great creepy moments, a genuinely claustrophobic book that comes together wonderfully despite just being a precariously balanced pile of erratic footnotes.

Do yourself a favor, and make sure you try to find a book with colored print. There are a few editions out there that don't have it, and there are sections of the book that really need it. :)

I'll definitely try to. From what I understand, the colors are critical to understanding the story.

This is true. I don't understand why they would make a print without it, aside from "hurr Durr cheap, no one will know" lol

That is exactly why they would do it. Black ink is cheaper than coloured ink.

Lol I know. I just think its silly for a book that relies on color. Lol

Oh hey. I didn't know you guys were talking about House of Leaves in here.

Note: The colors aren't exactly necessary for the story in my opinion. It's more added flavoring and the odd bit of "Oh, that non-English word must mean 'house' since it's in blue."

Anyway. I have that same edition and I fucking love it. The smutty bits are a bit distracting, but it makes sense for that character and overall doesn't hurt the story. I still crack open the book from time to time, read it over, and see things I didn't notice before or analyze bits just for interesting thought. I highly recommend people read it.
