So I just looked this up and I see a bunch of half naked people and like levitating BDSM gear on a red background.

Sounds like my sort of thing. When does it air, and where should I catch up?

.. From what i've seen, she was raped... but what's the point of her trying to seduce whatsisface? Poor guy can barely contain himself.

Also, I have to wonder why he was fapping in front of an uncovered window. How do you do that and NOT expect some creepy man to be watching?

Yeah, she was raped when Constance killed her. But prior to that, she DID sleep with the husband. Mistakes happen, but still.

At this point, I look at her as more of a really sad bystander, who uses the only thing she can to try to make men dig her body up.

And ches, FX on weds. I think they have episodes on the site.

They only have 5 episodes though. Ep. 2 is missing.

I've only seen the first episode.

But this show sounds like it got more fucked up the arse than True Blood.

True Blood isn't really horror at all. It's softcore + soap opera + typical HBO crap + horror creatures, but there's basically no horror in it at all. The vamps, weres, etc., are just basically superpowers, they aren't presented as horrifying or monstrous and the show has never had a single frightening or scary moment and I don't think is trying for scares in any way. The monsters aren't mysterious or dangerous, they're very mundane, like ordinary people with different lifestyles.

OTOH, AHS is certainly shot like a horror movie and is supposed to be scary, even if it doesn't always succeed.

I know, Krypto, I didn't identify with it as a horror. I just meant that it started with a basic premise and then just threw in whatever crazy supernatural thing that it could to keep it going.

I think AHS feels like they're hitting you with the kitchen sink, every haunted house movie rolled into one, but unlike True Blood which had a sort of "well we've run this vampire thing into the ground, what's next, OK fairies" vibe, it's more like the show hits you with a ton of stuff up front because the backstory is super complex, but as the show goes on, what seemed like "holy **** a ton of random **** is happening" turns out to actually be pretty logical given the show's internal rules.

Basically it's a rarity: an American serial show that is actually a well written long story, not just a bunch of random crap built on other random crap.

Yeah, I mean, I understand WHY the stuff is in there but I've tuned out a little bit thanks to the recent faeries storyline :(

This last was not my favorite ep.

Spoiler:
Disappointed that Tate is the rubber man. Hoping for more twists and a bigger "bad guy" still waiting in the wings.

I'm impressed that they're moving the story so quickly - hopefully they're building to an interesting resolution at the end of the season.

Per the next ep trailer, they're bringing the religious stuff. Looks great.

I think they've added the fairies in because it was in the original novels. I like that they're giving Sookie a reason to have her special powers. I don't know. Trueblood has always been a mediocre but fun series for me. I never expected it to be anything but fluffy entertainment.

Though I am disappointed that Jason isn't a werepanther.

The anti-christ though? Bit much, IMO.

The Security Guard is pretty hilarious, though.

I just can't deal with this show anymore, it's too insane. I mean, you'd think anything with ghosts, hauntings and dead people should be enough to make me shut down my reason-barrier but I can't do it. I've given up so keep me in the loop via this thread.

They keep breaking out with the twists and turns. I just don't know how the show can sustain itself over more than just one season.

Just now getting around to this.

Why is nobody in this show ever alarmed by the appearance of the fucking silent gimp of death.

They just assume it must be someone they know. Why. Why is nobody alarmed by the strange silent spooky gimp standing in strange poses in their home. Nobody even second guesses it for a second. Why.
